Avast Vs Malwarebytes – How Do They Compare?

Uncategorized

Whether you’re browsing the internet or using social media or working on your computer, it’s important to use an antivirus software to protect your information from cyber-attacks. Two of the most popular and trusted programs are Avast and Malwarebytes. Both programs are similar, however they each have their own features that make them different.

Avast’s free version is good choice, but it’s only offering basic protection. It does not monitor malware or ransomware. Premium tiers offer more features. Its highest-priced plan, Premium + Privacy, comes with a no-log VPN which stops unauthorized tracking, conceals your location, and secures your connection.

One of the greatest benefits of Avast is its extensive malware detection system. In AV Comparatives tests Avast scored 5.5/6. The heuristic algorithm and machine learning algorithms are both excellent for identifying new threats. It also blocks more than 1.5 billion attacks per month, which is higher than its peers’ average.

Malwarebytes isn’t the best choice for users looking to run an anti-virus program with real-time protection. The program checks the files on your computer, but it does not stop malware from infiltrating the system from outside. The paid plans offered by the company come with both an antivirus and antimalware, with ransomware protection and exploit protection.

Both have a simple and user-friendly interface, however Avast’s interface is more extensive and customizable. The security settings and options are more expansive than those of Malwarebytes which can make it difficult for beginners. Additionally, Avast has a wide array of additional tools and security options in its suites that aren’t available in Malwarebytes the paid tiers.
