Traders of the Techiman Central Market are wailing and counting their losses following a fire incident that has caused havoc to their shops.
The fire outbreak occurred on Monday, April 4,2021.
Fire personnel in Techiman required the help of fire tenders from neighbouring Municipalities to bring the fire under control.
The Bono East Regional Fire Commander, DO1 George Annim Frimpong, in an interview said his outfit was alerted of the fire around 1:15 PM.
Adding that he came [to the scene of the fire from home and realised that they alone cannot [fight the fire] so he then invited Kintampo fire station and Nkoranza fire station to also join.
He stress that those at Tuobodom after they were done [fighting their fire of their own], they also joined.
He said,they were having three fire tenders on the grounds and the fire was also spreading so it was a tough task.
However due to one or two technicalities, they were able to bring the fire under control.
Investigations are yet to conducted by the service to ascertain the cause of the fire. The extent of damage is also not yet known.
